The Most Visited Ugandan Websites

In this post we feature the most visited Ugandan websites. What factors are considered to rank a website as top? A few experts I respect have this to say in common about a top website:

Uganda Web Hosting

  • High search engine visibility
  • Huge traffic
  • High number of visitors
  • High page rank
  • Fresh, original content
  • Visitor engagement on the website
  • Social media presence and visibility

A few other “specialized” websites offer analytical information about country, regional and global website rank, as at . Other websites offer social media data, as at .I will use objective information from to list the top 20 local websites i.e. Uganda home based websites.

According to the sites in the top sites lists are ordered by their 1 month traffic rank. For every country, including Uganda, the 1 month rank is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors and pageviews over the past month. The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews is ranked #1.

Let’s get on the list: (Non Ugandan websites excluded)

There is your complete list. Note that these are statistics as at 1st December 2014. In the current time, variables could have changed and results could be altered. In my subjective opinion, I would look at the website design, quality of content and my individual bias. Much as these websites are “lucky” to be listed here as of now, I do not think anyone can guarantee that they are the “best” in the country. As an analogy, one local entertainment website won the award for the best website, in the entertainment category, and has again been nominated for the award this year, yet I see websites ranking far below making it to the top. Well, like the disclaimer states: rankings are based the past one month’s traffic and page views. I rest my case, adieu and Happy Christmas.
